Storytime

Storytime is an interactive experience designed for children ages 0–6. Through stories, songs, fingerplays, rhymes, and hands-on activities, children build early literacy skills in a fun and welcoming environment. Each session ends with a related craft or activity. Storytime helps nurture a lifelong love of reading and learning, and families are encouraged to join in the fun together.

Storytime usually takes place on the second and fourth Thursday of each month starting at 10:30 a.m. Sessions last about 20–30 minutes. Be sure to check our calendar to confirm dates and see if we have any extra activities planned!

We often take pictures and videos at our events. Here's why.

Sing together

Fingerplays, rhymes and songs slow down language so children can hear the different sounds that make up words.

Read together

Shared reading gets children ready to read. Kids who are read to are more likely to enjoy reading themselves.

Talk together

Children learn about language by listening and joining in the conversation. Talk as you play and choose books that interest your children to talk about!

Write together

Encourage your children to write or draw. A first step to writing is to stimulate small motor muscle control with toys and art supplies.

Play together

Children learn language by interacting with others and also with their physical surroundings.
